Maggie's Big Air National Title!

Maggie obtained her Dock Dogs Novice National Big Air title in 3 days at the Dutchess County Fair. We are very proud of our little girl who is now a titled dock diver. The venue was VERY different than those of te two 1-day regional competitions that we have attended. The national was packed with people both in the stands and surrounding the pool. There was all the noises of a very large fair and very loud outdoor sound systems blairing to copete in luring people to their exhibits. On arrival, my goal became to just get our little girl to jump in the pool! Needless to say she exceeded our expectations!

We kept stress levels down and her fitness up with the way we structured the jumps. We showed 3 of the 6 days, avoiding the first day with it's craziness and then gave her a day between each to rest. She can hunt in fields for hours but these events tire her out - the mental stress, excitement, and all the people and dogs. Maggie not only obtained her title, but got 3 1sts and 2 2nds. EVERYONE had a great time and I'll have more posts on this event.

Before Maggie earned her title, Zoe got her national title at the same event. Here is a picture of Zoe showing how it is done! She is a strong jumper. Maggie is striving to be as good as Zoe!
