"Deep Thought" vs "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"
In many ways, Penny and Maggie are opposite sides of the poodle coin. Maggie is "Miss Happy Go Lucky" - she sees life as one great big party and wants to be smack in the middle of all the fun. Penny is the analyst - always thinking and evaluating. This posts illustrates the two girls different approaches to life's "cliff of doom".Maggie definitely follows Cyndi Lauper's approach to life: "girls just wanna have fun." Maggie truly should be a blonde. Or at least we should put a couple bright pink streaks in her pom-pom. Penny, is a totally different poodle.
Penny reminds me of DEEP THOUGHT from "Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy." You look into Penny's eyes and you see the wheels turning. She is definitely a thinker.

I don't worry a lot about Penny getting hurt: she is always cautious. Penny hit the electric horse fence once and decided she should never do that again. Penny also decided that those big brown things are probably really dangerous - otherwise why have the electric fence around them? Penny steers clear of electric fences and horses.

Maggie, on the other hand, repeatedly hits the electric fence - each time going "what was that?" She looks at the horses and thinks - Wow! Cool! Big brown dogs - they look like lots of fun! I guess that is why it smarts to try to get to them. No pain - no gain! I very much worry about Maggie getting hurt! So I have to try to cut her off at the pass - BEFORE the cliff!

No wonder I love Penny so much—we are cut from the same cloth! I took a communications style workshop last week entitled “Who’s Who at the Zoo” and I was an Owl—the Analyst (and they pointed out that the first four letters of Analyst point to our general perspective). Yes, I do love Penny! QK
