Love Your Neighbor...

...but don't pull down the hedge. -Swiss Proverb

I love quotes. I was at work looking for an out of print book on nuclear waste management data (yes, my job indeed has it's glamorous moments) when the website I was searching popped this up. I jotted it down and immediately thought of having "Mac the Evil" as a neighbor. He'd just bust on through (or eat the hedge!) You'd need razor wire with him!! Here's the original sketch.

Great proverb, everybody needs a little privacy. Mac looks very devious, there must be something very interesting on the other side of the hedge or is it simply grass is always greener...

I love both the proverb and the drawing. I particularly like the way you show the action with Mac’s hoof wrapped around the hedge and the low crouch getting through the barrier. This is very nicely drawn. It reminds me of my golden retriever who tries to go through the hedge between our yard and the neighbors thinking that I won’t see him. Horses and dogs are both silly. QK

good fences make good neighbors...and hedges work too!!! This is great. I love seeing your initial pencil sketch concepts turned into full color.
